"Double 12" Brooklands Museum - Sunday 6th June 2010
« on: 05, June, 2010 - 08:00:02 »
ElectricDave and myself were at Brooklands on Thursday helping out "French Bob" with the bicycle display maintenance. We were invited in to the Museum Directors office and asked if we would be willing to take "Challenger" along on Sunday and have another run up Test Hill as part of the "Double 12" event;

So, "Challenger" has been dropped off at electricDaves house for a quick once over to make sure it's ready for the big day. It's last proper run was at Santa Pod so it seemed wise to check everything is still ok, which I'm sure it is  8).

We feel quite honoured to have been asked to take part in this as it's quite a prestigious event .

Wish us luck  :)

Electricdave and I had a fantastic day at the "Brooklands Double 12" event.

"Challenger" went up Test Hill to a huge round of applause, we saw some royalty and came away with several carrier bags of free goodies from the various trade stands - plus the sun was shining and the rain kept away. Perfect  ;D

The C5's were popular and were well received, especially as many people were surprised to see us at such an event  :)

I have to say a really big thank-you to everyone at Brooklands for not only inviting us - but looking after us so well (as always  :D).

Some piccies from today;

Some great looking cars on show, glad you had some fun in the sun, it rained here all afternoon. you bringing home a carrier bag of free goodies reminds me of when I was a lot younger going to the Hunstanton motor shows (A big event twenty years ago for all the local dealerships to show off the latest models) We used to go home of the bus with loads of freebies like pens, stickers and balloons and them little fluffy stick on things with big eyes etc.

It was a really fun day. We let a few people try out "Voodoo", with all them coming back sporting the famous "C5 grin".

ElectricDave went to the compulsory briefing for all those attempting Test Hill and said there were a few quips and comments from other drivers about c5's having to go down the hill as they weren't capable of getting up it  ::). After yet another successful ascent we had people coming over and shaking his hand saying they were amazed he managed it  ;D 8) All good stuff  :D

The Napier is a very special machine indeed  8)

..I didn't realise you were there otherwise we would have come over and said hello.

Thanks for posting the piccies....I actually forgot to bring my own camera along so had to borrow electricDave's  ;D

It would have been a shame if I had been unable to record some of the sights from such a superb day.
