Hi guys,
You lot got me worried that I won't have enough juice to get me round Crawley I will be using a brand new (well used twice) HB063 Halfords special but I can get hold of a 50Ah 450A 12V
Will this work? this would be my back up half way battery..
Thanks guys
Gary

I use them myself, a while back I started a topic on them but never updated it. Maybe between the two of us we could add some info to it 8)

That topic is about the HB063 's :(, kinda starting to worry if my HB038 's wont be up to the job. The specs for the HB038 's are:
# Startup Power: 265 Amps
# Type: Lead Acid
# AH Value: 35
# Bench Charge: 3.5 Amps
# Dimensions (LxDxH): 238x135x202mm
# Reserve capacity: 45
# Weight (kg): 10.63
im praying that they are ok as it would of been allot of money wasted if they aren't ???

Sorry mate - misread the text and didn't see you referring to type 038 batteries ::) , my earlier reply refers to type 063 car batteries.
I have used type 038's previously and found you get about 5 miles from each of them. They are ideal for those that want to keep the original keyswitch assembly but don't have as good a range as a type 063.
The type 015 is a similar size and also accepts the Sinclair battery top, but is more powerful than a type 038. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, i feel better knowing that i should be able to do the run as 1 hb038 will do half the journey, however im wishing that i splashed out a bit more when buying batteries as ideally i would like to have more milage per battery :'(
