Yeah, if only it was that simple... The bolt and cone came out really easily but the stem itself seems to have rusted solid into the outer tube. Hopefully if I hit it and swear at it a bit longer it'll come out, the swine.  ;

Hi all, I have finished getting the chassis complete, now to look at cleaning / repairing the body. Need a few items if anyone can help. Please see current photos.

Doe's look nice, coming along a treat, always nice to see restoration projects, but I reckon it might be a bit of hard ride with those bare wheels

Andy, We are hard up North, who needs tyres.
All this refurb is costing a furtune.



I have ordered some city jet tyres but have to wait 2 weeks from my local bike shop.


It probable going to take that time to sort the body shell as it's quite bad with scuffs and some deep scratches.

Will be also trying some 11% Chlorine solution I got from a friend. The water treatment guys use it to clean / flush new mechanical pipe work installs, so will give it a go (small area) but will still use the normal CIF and scouring pads, etc.

Always better off with a light colour chassis paint because any cracks will show up
