Hi, I'm going to get a new battery for my c5 soon and I was wondering what batteries you use an why sort of mileage you get out of them

Thanks  :)

Karl

Looking around at the c5alive meetings it seems to be a mixture of type 063 or type 065 car batteries , with various different leisure batteries.

There are a few reviews in the tried and tested section

Jonny

thanks, i'll have a look through there  :)

Jonny

Karl, do you know what the weight is of the 063 type battery?

■Type: Lead Acid
■AH Value: 41
■Bench Charge: 4.1 Amps
■Dimensions (LxDxH): 207x175x175mm
■Reserve capacity: 60
■Weight (kg): 11.17

Jonny

thanks, every time i try to look at car batteries on the halfords website it comes up with a car model finder (and sinclair c5 isn't on there  :-[) and i have no idea how to look at a list of batteries. also searching 063 turns up no results  :(

...always varies as it depends on several factors, but roughly speaking anywhere between 8-10 miles.

The best battery I ever had came from you Karl...

Jonny

i think i've found the perfect battery  ;D:

a bit pricier than standard 063 type car batteries and a bit heavier but it is deep discharge and should last for 1000 cycles!

1000 cycles would be useful , if the claims are true it should last much longer than a car battery.

Numax batteries were a disappointment,  not heard from anyone using these elecsol batteries yet

Jonny

well i'll let you knwo how i get on with it  :)

plumber

mark donnely just brought a numax battery and he is well disappointed! my old one from Adam Harper lasts the time time and is lighter lol
p.s which battery is good to use for lightness and deep cycle and for using the original battery top?

many thanks the plumber

Lancealot

Don't waste your money, I have a 85aH leasure with the so-called 1000 cycles and only getting 6-8miles and thats peddling alot aswell.

..a type 015 . Although its a car battery , and therefore not deep cycle, it is about the best available that fits the original keyswitch battery top ;
