A bit of an update;

The kickstart oil seal arrived on Saturday along with a bottle of oil so I got it changed - no more leaks! :D I got the new footpegs in the post this morning and it looks like I've made a mistake - they catch on the exhaust and the bolt holes don't line up. SO it looks like they'll have to go back and I'll be getting some from somewhere else.

The tyres arrived today and I got them fitted when I got home. When I had the rear wheel off I also wire brushed, primered, painted & undersealed the rear inner wheel arch. Judging by the amount of mud I removed, it looks like it was previously an all-weather bike.

Nothing major done today, but I managed to track down a (UK supplied) replacement for the snapped seat hinge pivot bolt at £7.99 which arrived today.

It also now looks like the welding will be put back another couple of weeks as the Sinclair needs a new battery - at £40 - to keep me mobile over winter.

I finally received the V5 in the post this morning. It took so long as the first time I sent the application off they got back to me two weeks later saying that they had lost the cheque and therefore I had to apply again. Three weeks later I got a letter telling me that they are dealing with my request but they had spelled my name incorrectly, after calling them to correct this I was told it would have to be re-submitted and therefore will be another 2-3 weeks late.

WOW! the time delays have been drastically shortened.

6 years ago when I applied for my UK pension it took them over 3 months just to send the application forms, :-\  after another 3 months I was informed they had not received anything, :o so I must reapply. This of course took around another 3 months. >:(  All in all it took 51 weeks before the first payment was made. >:(  >:(

Standard copy book replies "We are understaffed and overworked". After 8 months I was down to my last penny so I had to apply for assistance, and the German athourities thought I was joking.

She was finished a few weeks back but I finally got round to collecting her today. Fully welded up and painted, with a new rear panel fitted. Looks pretty good, I think.  :D
