Well, I've had a day of doing jobs round the house today. Guttering repair etc. After doing these I decided I needed a treat so I finally got around to testing the C5 with a battery.
Being short of money at the moment I borrowed the battery from our Allegro which, happily is exactly the right size to fit the original battery top and has the posts the correct way round.
I had a huge grin on my face after wizzing round our village for about 15min. No belt slip and the pod seems to work as it should.  :) :) :).
It does seem a lot faster than 15mph when you are that low down!

Fantastic stuff - great that it's all working as Sir Clive intended  :) :) :)

 8) It feels like you are going about 25 mph. I wonder what it is like in a 24 v  :o

Fun fun fun  :) :)

Dave.76

How fast will a 24V C5 go? Does it get into the scary rather than fun territory?
C5's are definitely FUN ;D

It probably feels like 40 mph. I don't know I have a 12 v 8)

Dave.76

That sounds fast enough to be scary to me :o

Luke S

It would be fun, or is it just because i am young i like going fast 8) 8)

I've hit 25mph downhill in my 12v, which was fun - right until the moment I tried to brake....
Now, I'm a bit more cautious until I can afford to do a rear disc brake :p

You are right though, it does often feel faster.

Luke S

I don't think my rear brakes work that well either  :o :o

Karl

The first time is always the most memorable  ;D
