Would warming the duct tape with a hairdryer  make removal easier Chas?

Thanks Iv tried it but no joy .What Iv done is take out the wiring harness and left the body and boot outside it has started to come off but a long way to go ....

Traffic film remover might get the adhesive residue off, or quick dabs with parcel tape(both methods we use to remove such residue from fabrics).

Thanks for the advice , but since it's been outside the sticky residue has gone and all I'm left with is the dry tape left behind ...still need to work on it ..later on ....

you can buy proprietary 'gum' remover, works great on those sticky labels attached to equipment.

get from places such as Maplins and Staples, i use it to remove labels attached by clients to my door entry panels.

Thanks all but what I have just used is a wallpaper steam stripper and it seems to work .What I have done is take of the end bit and just used the pipe ..slow but looking ok ....

steamer - hmmm! i don't know why, but you had me getting flashbacks from my childhood and making fruit bowls out old 78 rpm records mdae hot by submerging them in hot water   

a C5 with a lack of attention - would make a very big one
