Hello, I can't read the frame-number on the sticker of my C5 body (Red Arrow).
Is there another place where I can read the number. Maybe on the chassis somewhere?
Does it (partly) correspond with the motor-number?

Hi there the only place the number is displayed is where yours is at the front ...The number on the motor has nothing to do with the c5 body no ....
Bye Chas

The number starting in 100 is the one you need. If you look carefully it is actually stamped in to the sticker slightly embossed.. By carefully shining a bright torch on it at different angles might just about be enough to see if the indents are still there..

Great! Very helpfull! Thanks.

The sticker on my C5 had also faded badly, but I managed to work out the number using this "bright light / shallow angle of view" method!  It took a couple of different lights, and a camera flash, but it's not too difficult.

Also, the number on the sticker isn't a sequential in terms of total volume production, but rather the month, year and the production within the listed month.

Taken from the excellent resource at www.sinclairc5.com:

QuoteWhat does the Vehicle Number mean?

V100050302778

V1000 = Model reference for C5
5 =1985
03 = March
02778 = 2778th produced that month

Yours looks like it starts:

V1000 5 10 0...

So, at least you know it was built in October 1985 :)

More than what I have

So, I think i have to "choose" a number...  :)
I hope that I choose a number that won't show up on another Sinclair C5 in future...  ;D

Surely that must be one of the very last ones made? I thoughts that by October they were just trying to get rid of the last ones they had left?

Very funny if it was the very last one made  ;D

So, I think it's wise for me to choose a low-number after the 10-number from october...
Something like:
100051001972 (1972=my year of birth)

The last 4 numbers must be under 2132, because I found that number somewhere on the internet. So, at least they build 2132 C5's in october 1985, is my conclusion...

I hope the number 100051001972 is "free", and not registered somwhere...  :D  :D  :D

Well I'm sure I can make out "0006" after the 1? I'm sure I can read 100510006..? Chas says mistake, I guess it's feasible they made a few  ???
