This is part of the email I received ;

Hi,
>
> I have a Sinclair C5 'high spec', which was given to me by Sir Clive Sinclair as a thank you for my company's participation in the original launch of the C5 vehicle.  My C5 is virtually unused, has its toolkit, all-weather covers and original manual.  It is complete with wing mirrors, indicators and rear high reflector.  It also has the battery charger, but the original battery is gone.
>
> I also have a C5 mug, presented to me by Sir Clive on the day of launch in London all those years ago.

So a genuine 1 lady owner from new , with known history  ;)

Come on Umpa, get your money out before Ray buys it  :D, I would love to get my hands on one like this, just for keeps, but I dont have that sort of money at the moment.

I need to earn more - would love this one !!!!!!!!!

Umpa

Heres the problem - I have no where to put it.  My other two sit out side in the rain as it is.  I am going to have a custom made shed that might hold 4 - two on the bottom and two on the top - and nothing else.  I wont even be able to walk down the sides of them.

I would LOVE that C5 - but like a cuddly kitten It needs a good home.

Space is the killer for me in this hobby :(

Retro Andy

Do you have four C5's then Umpa ? If you did want it, I would be happy to look after it for you, just taking it for a little run every now and then so it does'nt seize up ;D

************  Now reduced for a quick sale *********************

I've received an email from Jill saying she has unexpectedly sold her house much quicker than anticipated, meaning she will soon lose her storage space.

This superb C5 is now up for a very tempting reduced price of £650 ono , quite a bargain

If it doesn't sell here I guess it will be put on Ebay where it may go for a higher price ?

Umpa

I can't begin to say how much I want this - but Julia says no !

Umpa

Looking at it, the mug should be older than the C5, as all launch C5's should have a grey boot.

Retro Andy

I want it, I want it, I want it, but can't have it  :(

You're not the only one mate - I'm out of storage space and have got all my pennies tied up in other projects... :-\ :'(

I have emailed and put in an offer.  Hope it's not been sold yet?  If it has, it would be a great shame.  I'm guessing this would make a great first C5 - would anyone else agree?

Regards,

Mike

Mike - this C5 sounds almost too good to use, it should make a superb first C5.

If you are lucky enough to get hold of it I'd recommend giving it a service before taking it out on any of our meetings, purely because it doesn't seem to have been used much at all and could probably do with some greasing up of all the bearings etc.

Thanks.  Just had an email today to say that someone is already going to collect and pay for it on Saturday, so looks like I am too late.  Never mind.  Yes, thanks for the service suggestion I hadn't thought about that.  Blimey, I really hadn't thought about the servicing and maintaining expense - how stupid of me!  It certainly looked like it has not been used so it'd definitely need looking at.

I'm now looking to purchase one.  Any ideas where / who from?

Cheers,

Mike
