Hi - folks I was playing with Matt's C5 today and noticed that when I removed the drive wheel there are two metal washers that sit against the drive gear (the plastic wheel driven by the belt) One of these washers has become almost oval in shape and although two washers are fitted there is still about 4 - 5mm movement of the drive gear. Picture shows the washers in place and the gap on the end of he axle prior to fitting the wheel. Also noted some slight side to side movement in the chain sprocket on the rear axle when turning the pedals. Any idea what might be causing the wear in the washer ?

Karl

Only a suggestion, but I dont think you've got enough washers there - I always use enough to "fill the gap" so to speak

It might be that the "oval" washer has been left with enough space to be able to move around, causing it to wear ?
