Just read this - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/oxfordshire/4169051.stm

I know it's old news now, but the last sentence at the bottom amused me somewhat.  Surely this guy can't be serious about the C5 (or many of them) acheiving 60mp?

Does anyone know what happened to this guy?  I understand he may well have had a 24v C5, but I could be wrong.

I might be wrong, and i'm sure Karl will come along later to confirm, but he might be at the C525 event.

I do think he has posted on here in the past and he as far as I'm aware he did complete the trip. I think he also sold the C5 last year though ?

I was in contact with Chris last year and invited him to C5-25, but we seem to have lost contact for the time being .

As far as I am aware he never did complete this trip due to health problems , I think it was a dodgy knee that ended it for him.

The unintentional 60mph was achieved in a downhill run, somewhere in Scotland I think, and I recall him telling me it wasn't a pleasant experience.

I can imagine, on the royal run the hill we go down we got up to 27mph according to Martin's cycle computer and that was fast enough when bits fly off your C5.  :D

When we did the Horsham run and came down the hill we were hitting 28mph and then had the famous exploding inner tubes on both Martin's and Umpa's. Would not like to see that happen at 60mph, especially on a scottish mountain road...

Umpa

They only exploded because we put to much pressure in them, it was a hot day too.

Perhaps under pressure by Jedwood would have been a good theme song  :D
