Finally got a C5!

Well, I bided my time and waited it out, and finally found a fairly local C5 at a decent price.

Hopefully it wont need much doing to it.

Obvious "needs" so far:

Battery

Front wheel cover


Hopefully this will all be good in time for the MK meet!

Looks like you have been busy! I attended a c5 meet in summer 2009 and decided I was going to get one. I haven't been on the forums in a good few months now

However, there is the small matter of actually paying for and picking up this item.. So I wont count my chickens just yet!

Glad to hear you got one, i was looking at that myself, but we have Two here already and her that must be obeyed wasn't that keen on a third one.

I think this one is in Bedford, not sure where you are located, i am in Peterborough, so if you need help with collection (depending where you are) just ask.

The guy is in Dunstable - so maybe a little far for you! I've mailed him to ask his specifics.

Do you plan to go to the MK meet? Part of the route goes directly past the office I was working in until November last year!

Can't wait to get my hands dirty on that C5. I may even see about collecting tomorrow if the guy gets back to me.

What horrors await me?...

Would advice servicing the motor/gearbox and brakes as a priority dude - loads of info in the help section and some great stuff from C5Martin should you want to do a full strip down. PS what part of Bedfordshire are you in ?- I lived in Luton for many years.

I live in Kempston.

Seller hasn't got back to me yet, so I wont be arranging any trips over today to collect Will have to be next week if he doesn't, but I don't think it's quite C5 weather just yet!

I will definitely get everything checked over. Since the unit was quite cheap I think I may be able to get away with spending a few extra quid on it.

Still keeping my fingers crossed! I've had ebay purchases go bad before and sellers changing their mind

I AM SURE IT WILL BE OK,    M y second one was from Minehead, i paid just over £50 for it and really only wanted it for spares.

When i got there .....  It was almost unused condition, just added some new tyres, a 5 volt regulator and a rsistor all for 83p from Maplins, a good clean and off she went.

So i am sure it will all be ok, plenty of help and advice on here also.

I do go up and down the country quite a bit, between Peterborough and London where i work, so if you do get stuck for collection just call.

I was in MK on Tuesday, trying to find IKEA, almost gave up, but then there it was .

Anyway good luck with it and welcome to world of c5 owners ...

Well, some good news. I heard from the seller today! They aren't available to do anything for a few days which works for me as the closer to pay-day the better!

Fingers crossed for a pickup next Saturday.

John, I used to work in MK about 5 minutes from IKEA, and currently work in Welwyn - sounds like you probably pass my office now and then (A1-J6).

Junction 6 , i know it well !  A couple of weeks ago @ 05.30 i was involverd in a 9 car pile up when the Herts council didn't grit the road, right on that junction. I was lucky i came out of it Ok, ended up facing the wrong way on the hard shoulder, but a few others were not so lucky.

Good luck with the C5, You will have hours of fun just getting it restored, and hours more once its fully functional.
