Hi

Is this C5 in the Uk or the Netherlands ? Whats the price thanks

quasimodo:
Goodmorning all,

This C5 is in the Netherlands and has an interesting history, I will post later on.
All parts have been sourced/imported in the last few years, costing about 1200,- euros in total. The C5 was checked by a bicycle specialist, who replaced all old greases and oil and made it perfect running.

The price is always a difficult subject, but I am not willing to sell under 750,- euros. Within a few days the C5 will also be on Ebay.

I will send pictures to above email-adresses asap.

gr.

As promised, a little bit of history.....

This Sinclair C5 is part of a batch, that was imported by a dutch businessman who bought the bankrupt remains of Sinclair, thinking he bought only ‘Sinclair ZX-Spectrum’-computers, which were still very popular in the Netherlands. He was in for surprise that there were also 400 (!) C5’S in the remains. Thinking, the C5 is a nice eye-catcher, this businessman put up the C5’s in his electronics-stores all over the country. 15 of these went to a part of the country called ‘Twente’.

When Sinclair Spectrums were lacking popularity, the C5’s were taken out of the stores and the owner handed them over to his children, one of them called ‘Jeroen’.
Later, when Jeroens grandmother had passed away, another 5 Sinclairs were found (!) in her attic. One by one, these C5’s were transported to his home on the roof of his Fiat 127. Unfortunately, because of his health, Jeroen didn’t use them anymore later and sold one of them to Frank (organiser first C5 meeting Netherlands and C5 Guru).

To prevent excessive wear, because of aged greases and oils, Frank took the C5 to a bicycle specialist for a proper service. After that, Frank collected all other C5-options from ebay, Frank used it for a small tour and stored it ever since.....

Until I traded my 750 Watt C5-conversion to it. (See http://sinclair-c5.blogspot.nl/ )

And now, it’s for sale !!!

By the way; more Photos will be uploaded here in the next few days:

Have you tried to sell this before on another C5 site. The story seems rather familar.
Cant see the pictures on the link.
