the one you posted in original pic was the first one i actually oned christmas 76, been on the look out for a few years now for a mk1 but always seem to be the later mk2's which i find

there were around 7-8 style of grifters mk 1 and mk2 then the supers being towards end of 83, then as you know the burner bmx's appeared along with c5's

then we went onto bikes and cars  and women  :D

now i am going back down the line

they come up on e bay regular mate, also grifter site sometimes has them up for sale,

unlike the chopper, grifters you can still pick them up reasonably cheap if needing a bit of work

The missus has an old grifter that's black with red metal mud guards. Is it any good?

there was only 2 black ones ever made the xl, the one i just bought, relatively cheap to buy, and the gs a bit rarer so may go for a bit more,

these were both around 82-83 as for what there worth depends on what people want to pay

post up pic if you like , will give you a better opinion once i see it

It's funny because maybe 5 years ago I bought a wethepeople bmx with the intention of riding on a night for exercise. I took one lap round the block then got off with my legs wobbling and burning. I thought bloody hell I used to live on my bike as a kid, it's been up the loft ever since  :P

After doing a deal with Karl, the silver Grifter is now mine  :) Wow they are heavy, how the hell we managed to jump about on them when we were kids ! Goes to show how my children are lucky with the light weight bmx's etc of today, I will be giving it a good clean, chrome polish and a new seat, decals, chain guard etc, Many thanks Karl, fantastic, love it ;)
