I brought a Sinclair C5 off eBay for £38 and as you would expect it was in bad condition, I had hoped to fit a mini moto bike engine in it but the chassis was too rotted and most mechanics where seized, the body was painted orange and in a bad state, I decided instead of completely scrapping it I would modify the body into a cot bed for my one year old grandson, I cut out the innards and strengthened the floor and fitted two box section tubes to the inner sides to the back which locates the axle, new tyres where purchased (Raleigh chopper rears and pushchair front, all from Ebay) as was centre caps (purchased locally)to replace the missing ones,a MDF floor will support the mattress, a cot mattress fits exactly but that's more by luck than judgement, the orange paint has been pains takenly sanded off and the interior side panels have been carpeted, the height of the front panel had to be cut down due to damage, I can't download a pic as I'm using a iPhone but if anyone can for me I will email one

Id like to see this!

Email a pic to me mikedx at gmail and i will upload it here.

Think i was tempted by the orange beastie too!

I think I saw that orange one on ebay, it looked like it had stood outside for donkeys years.

Smartbillr

It had been in the garden for at least 15years, it was only 5 miles from me so I brought it, it was on about 3 weeks ago

This really is a top piece of engineering, especially when you consider what Bill started with!

The back light was broken so was fitted inside of the hole

very nice!  :D

Smartbillr

I wish I could upload the pic off eBay to show before and after, the rear light was broken round the edges so I fitted it inside the opening, the front light had a broken front lens so the front was covered in Perspex, the front is higher than usual, pity the front wheel trim was missing

Top stuff, and something different for a C5.

Maybe you can mount a steering wheel console for a racing game and the pedals as well in an old sinclair :D :D
