It certainly would  8)

The jet powered C5 looks like a beautifully built machine & would look superb parked up alongside "challenger" and the "ubmobile"  at C5-25 as a celebration of performance and modified C5's ;D

Go for it Ray - would be good for it to be in the C5Alive family.

especially if it comes to the meets on cold rainy days - we can do the chestnuts and dry our socks  :D

imo being serious, real money will be paid, who ever buy's itwill need either private grounds preferably an airport or a really decent P/L policy.

if you go to 'darwinawards.com' urban legends, tells a story of a guy who straped a jet motor to his car, drives out to the desert and hits the start button.

Police found the remains of him and his car some way up a mountain several miles away,

noted in the Police report his hand bones had fused into the steering wheel, and the brake shoes completely missing - presumed due to overheating when he tried to brake!!!

but hey its Christmas - i wonder if the mother-in-law would like it?  ::)

The club should own this - I can't think of a better organisation to have it.  Karl remember my suggestion of a donate button ?

hard to know if he was the original instigator as h claims, darwinawards has many many stories of incredible human stupidity often resulting in demise. early days they did try to verify them but that's just impossible.

so how true they are who can tell (well i still believe in Santa  :D ) reading them can make you feel good because you would never do anything that stupid - would you?

I'd love to see this on display under a c5alive banner, but having everyone donate to buy it as a "club purchase" creates a whole raft of issues to sort out.
An excellent idea, just not sure how we'd put into into action in a way that pleased everyone.
