What do you reckon is best
1 Suck the heat away
or
2 Blow the heat away ?

The standard construction of the cooler is to blow the air over the cooler (and than when it was still in the PC over the processor) over the controller
I think the IT boys did some tests with it and this was the best result
Main issue is to use cooling pasta in-between the cooler and the controller to get the best heat transmission from the controller to the coolerblock

Best choice is to blow the heat away, if you suck the heat away the fan will get warm and have its lifespan shortened

the fan had his lifespan long ago in an old pc en worked for more than 5 years 24hours a day in an atmosphere of 70-90 degrees so what is the problem with mixed air of -ish ..... 40 degrees ???
will it last till my c5 is 50 years      :P      2035

Sorry i was in techie/newbie mode if that makes sense, but seriously, find the cause of the heat and why, what is getting hot, if its a controller and hidden in the boot, it wont get much air, move it into an airstream, the extra fan will reduce your range, not by much but it will.

What are the chracteristics of your controller, do you have a spec sheet?
