Brooklands museum - something different

Angie and I went along to Brooklands Museum last night (16th) to try out one of the "Torchlight Tours" ;

..you see some parts of the museum that you don't usually notice. You get to go in the old air raid shelters and also the old public entrance that runs through a tunnel under the track. It's now blocked off at one end and used as a storage facility and occasional film set use  8) .The tour guide also points out the foundations for the old grandstand by Test Hill and the remains of the gun emplacements for defence during WW2.  There are also tales of racers meeting tragic ends and the location of those accidents pointed out - as well as some tales of their spooky images returning in ghostly sightings by night security and deliverymen :o.

All in all a superb evening out and highly recommended  :)
