Control Box and brushes.
« on: 11, September, 2008 - 19:52:24 »
Wells finally got round to wiring up a battery (had to wait for charger to arrive)
Pod lit up  :)
Lights all worked  :D

However the motor wouldnt switch on, we metered it all out and the switch itself worked. Also metered the motor but got nothing across it, id take this to mean that the brushes needed replacing.  :-[
Anyway i couldnt hear the relay working when i tried the switch so i also took the contol box apart.
Diode D1 had blown.

And in this post
http://c5alive.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=189.0

I saw that this could stop the motor working is this accurate?
I'd need the diode number if someone has got it handy as all the plastic had literally disintergrated.

And for the brushes is there some instructions as to how to take them out/ replace them?

Cheers guys, ill soon stop asking stupid questions i swear  :D
