Yep - when it comes to the mini-el/cityel then Andreas is the man  8)

Nice to know the support is there if it all goes wrong - always a worry when you own a unique vehicle  :)

Thanks Allen, sorry it took so long to respond but I lost this thread,LOL.
Latest newa on my Mini El front.
decided it was just wasting space in my garage,so took it out for a short run,and had the intention of advertising it at a very reasonable price in Classic car weekly. It ran fine but when I inspected the batteries,I found the post of one was very badly corroded.
So I dissconected all battery leads and cleaned them, and the battery posts, topped up all the cells and put it all back together again.
Bad mistake,it now will not run at all.Sob,so cant sel, will just sit there.I have realy had enough of it now.

These things don't seem very reliable. If doing a bit of minor service does this to it. I hope you get it sorted Ray.  Don't forget to let us know the out come.

I would not have thought there is much wrong with it if it worked ok prior to taking off the leads ....

Might just be a case of having a look at the connections / wiring, sounds like something has come adrift somewhere.

when I can get up the strength to look at it again,LOL,I will have a check on leads and so on.
This is a great little car but it needs someone that is electricaly minded to love and cherish it.
I have my hands full with maintaining 8 C5s and my 1060 Ford Zodiac.

They aren't too bad really, Nikki from the BVS ran hers as her only car using it every day and after all, they are designed for use as short range commuter vehicles  8). The owners club in Germany regularly do weekend meetings so they can be reliable.

As with all old vehicles they can be temperamental at times, even a C5 will spit the dummy every now and then  ;D

But as Ray and I have found, you do need a bit more electrical knowledge to sort out any snags on a mini-el than you do with a C5.

A 1060 Ford Zodiac was horse drawn wasn't it? Part of King Harold's preparations for the forthcoming Norman invasion no doubt, and imported as Ford had no plant in the UK then.

Typos are so easy to make, especially if using a PDA because its such a pain to rectify the mistake(on my Blackberry Storm anyway).

Mini el now running.
And there was no fault.???
WE I must admit I am baffled.
After re connecting the batteries and having no dash lights, putting her on charge,I found she was not charging! Put cut out knob into in position and she started charging!
After a few Minuit's,put cutout switch in,out position, and all was well again!
This is to much for my mind, especially as,previously, she would not run if this knob was in the out position? this sounds like the rantings of a mad man.  HELP!

Took my Mini El to the Brekland show last Sunday,an wow,did she get some attention!
The BBC were also interested in her and asked me to speek live on radio about it.
Hundreds of people were interested,so it was well worth taking her.
