As you can see from the piccies , yesterday was blessed with gorgeous weather bringing out the crowds to an amazing event. All types of vehicles taking part in the Hill Climb with some serious machinery on view.
After the parade lap of historic vehicles the two c5's ,"challenger" and the c-5000 had their turn . Mrs radiomarty (Carolyn) went first using challenger, followed by the c-5000. It was a huge relief when the news came back that both had passed the finishing line with no mechanical failures etc and ,all excited, we waited at the end of the return road for the triumphant pair to come back. And we waited for quite a while......at this point the concern started to grow . When the two Land Rovers were dispatched up the hill closely followed by the ambulance I guessed something bad had happened and anxiously waited for the updates coming over the radio.
Having successfully negotiated the course Carolyn had come a cropper on the return route back to the paddock
ElectricDave had come across the scary sight of Challenger on its side and Carolyn injured having gone through a fence. The Prescott Hill guys were fantastic and took great care of her , and it was such a relief to the news come through that she was up and about . She was taken to the local Hospital for a couple of stitches and has some nasty bruising on various parts of her anatomy ...but luck seems to have been on our side and she came off quite lightly all things considered.I'm sure RadioMarty will be along with some more details later, but no jokes about women drivers !
So taming the Prescott Hill course resulted in minor repairs being necessary to Carolyn and "Challenger" , the best news being that both have happily survived to tell the tale
...and the c-5000 impressed everyone with its speed up the hill as well. So not a bad day at all, certainly one of the most eventful
