What a fantastic day! A bit on the cold side, but great turnout. The C5s really turned heads, and drew a bigger crowd than most other stuff there (including an E type parked opposite!)...
We let people sit in one of them and have their photos taken etc which really went down well! The inside of the museum (although it's actually outside) was pretty much the same as usual with the exception of a Spitfire they had in especially for the event so I didn't bother walking in to take photos as I've been too many times before, but here are the photos I did take:-
I actually had a sit in the TVR coming down towards the camera as I let the owner have a spin in my C5! Amazing car!
I don't know what the safety issue was. The top of the hi viz is above the bottom of the drivers windscreen
Finally, a shot of our two together! Right. The one furthest from the camera is the one we lovingly call the 'go cart'. It's got no electrics, but looks 'right', which is why we let people sit in it. It has the wheels that originally came off of the closest one. The CLOSE one is my pride and joy. Every possible extra, runs like a dream! I went to Halfords yesterday to get the brakes adjusted and the manager (after he calmed down!) asked if he could have a go. I let him take it for a spin around the car park and he had a great time! Drew a small crowd too o) Such is the power of the C5...
The whole dark grey boot debate is still on. The boot that was on the one on the left is now on the one on the right... from the dates, the white boot one was built in January and the grey boot in February, but they still look good
Me staring lovingly at my collection, and feeling the cold despite 5 layers! The vehicle behind me is an Austin Gipsy. It was dry stored by the government 'in case of nuclear war' for over 30 years, bought by a farmer and used for a few years, and is now owned by Robin. Lovely guy, lovely vehicle! Oh, and look closely for Ashley, our youngest, in the background
Lovely pair!
The man actually ended up having a ride! The woman was adament she wouldn't be able to get back out again
Great show! Looking forward to next years!
