Hi guy's
I have finally worked out how to upload photo's so here's a few of my restoration

It's complete now and up and running on 24v, I am very pleased with the results, just minor alterations and some indicators to go !!

Great job, very impressive.  Love the disc brakes, that sort of thing is way beyond my ability :-\

Thanks guy's,
I have replaced a lot of the parts from the original C5 to get it in a condition were it should be around for a few more years.
A good challenge and a fun project to do, would def do it all again, thanks to the help from this site and everyone who helped along the way.

Hi Dave
I got the wheel from eBay for about £10 the hub was separate as was the disc.
I went to my local bike shop and asked them to fit the hub and balance the wheel, they almost agreed to do it but it was to small for their jig. They were very helpful in calculating the spoke length for each side though, one side were fine and the other needed to be reduced by 0.5mm, I ended up setting it up myself using some tie wraps attached to the forks & it seams to be ok.

Would love to fit the same braking system to my 24 volt C5, is it possible to have some details and an up close look at how you did the rear brake mod.

The disc is fastened to the wheel with an aluminium centre,

Pic also shows the inner ball bearing, I used the original outer bearing due to lack of time, I plan to look at using a sealed ball bearing when I have more time, if it is possible

Another close up, shows the folds on the plate better, 45 deg fold on the front to add extra support

The plate is folded under the frame and is held with the frame bolts through the axel bearing housing, and two bolts through where the brake shoes were mounted. The bearing housing I trimmed the shroud off, you could just reverse it but I think trimming it makes a neat finish.

I will take some more pics tomorrow, but it looks like any other standard C5, I like to think of it like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I am unable to fit the front wheel covers without cutting them, so I have another set of forks were I will mount the calliper on the rear and hopefully this will allow fitting of the covers without having to cut them.

Also thinking of adding more gears but recently moved house and will have to put some time in there soon, I will help with questions and post more pics if anyone wants to know more, watch this space !

PS the brake disc is held on with csk bolts allowing a closer fit to the plate, there is only a few mm clearance to play with.
