Title: Maplins - For all your C5 needs...
Post by: danny7147 on 03, February, 2013 - 11:19:52
Just out of interest, seeing as almost everyone who owns a C5 relies heavily on Maplins to keep it on the road, has it ever been proposed to them to enter into a sponsorship deal? For example, they give a discount to C5alive members, we stick one of their banners up at meets etc? Sure, fraught with problems, how to prove you're a C5alive member is one, but they are the company we rely so heavily on!

Good idea but they will not go for it. They don't sponser anything that I have seen.

We probably don't spend enough as a group as well.

Let's see what Karl thinks, but with his permission I don't mind approaching them. It would work more in their favour than ours as they'd get a bit of free advertising, but be nice to have a discount too lol!

Most of the stuff in MAPLINS is expensive, most items (components) are cheaper on ebay. Also our local one never has anything in stock.

I know someone who works for them , i will ask what they think.

I remember I worked with a guy once who restored a car... Ended up with more filler than metal so someone made a 'PROUDLY SPONSORED BY ISOPON' sticker for his back bumper ;-) He wasn't amused...
