You will need to protect the finished printed plate by laminating or use a protective clear film etc.
I used a protective clear tape.
This is FREE! so use your imagination.
It's not perfect but works well.
What does the Vehicle Number mean?
V100050302778
V1000 = Model reference for C5
5 =1985
03 = March
02778 = 2778th produced that month

I am really at a loss to understand this post, what exactly are you giving away free?
a FREE sinclair sticker which is a copy of the original, and free sticky cover...most office dudes can do this anyway!!!
I came to this site for support..!!!
-
You sound a little ungreatful mate, Martin is offering a copy of the serial sticker for free, if you dont need one or can make you own thats fine, but you dont have to turn your nose up to it.
Anyway Karl and Martin are always keen to help and support anyone, thay are just the other end of the telephone or drop on Karl's door step he would would be more than happy to sort anyone's problems.

how weird, I'm able to open - I think Kurt managed okay and Martin plus his son got into it ok.
very odd ??? , must be something to do with the format
leave it with us, I'm sure it can be sorted soon 8)

I spoke to one of our IT bods today at work, they seem to think its to do with the version of word it was created in, if it a very late version of office then it can't be read by earler version.
If that is the case, then its just a case of saving it in an earlier format ?

I had to load a converter patch from the Web to get it to open, but I have re-saved it in a standard word format and e-mailed it to Karl.
Regards,
Kurt.

All sorted ..........
Works fine ........... :D ;)
Thanks for all your help ;)

This is great - thank you very much. I'll laminate mine when I get round to doing them!
-
are you still making these?
-
are you still making these?
It is a "D.I.Y" job, click on the link (also shown on page 1), save the document and alter the serial number to suit your own c5. Print it off and use some clear sticky back plastic to stick it on.

ok thanks i'll have a go at that, do you know if there is any way to find out what your serial number is apart from the original sticker?

im in the same situation, I don't have my original sticker :(
-
That the only id on the C5 ....
-
As Plod says, the sticker is the only "chassis plate" fitted - so if it's gone then sadly so is the record of your chassis number.
You could just have some fun with the replacement sticker, I bet very few people read the serial numbers anyway - why not add your name or anything else that takes your fancy. Could be a talking point at the meetings and events ;).

shall do, thanks :)
