toothed belt pitch?
« on: 21, January, 2011 - 03:28:22 »
G'day,
Does anyone know the exact pitch of the belt drive system?
Measuring it, I can't determine if it is the imperial "XL" size of .200" or the metric "T" size of 5mm.
Yes, there is only 3.5 thou difference between them, but I don't want any premature wear.
My best reasoning tells me that due to the belts teeth shape (rounded) it should be the metric "T" size, or specifically the "HT" (high torque) size. That is, if the belt fitted to my c5 is the correct one to start with.
I need this info for the gearbox I am making.
Thanks,
Jason.

I don't couldn't find the exact details , but the belts we sell on here are what I inherited when taking over the site and are a perfect fit  8) ;

..they cope with 24v conversions very well so are plenty strong enough.

Thanks for that BooBoo.
Do your new belts measure 3.8mm in total height and 2.1mm in tooth depth?
