why did nobody come up with this...or does it simply dont work?

I guess it would work but how do you replace the drivebelt after you have glued the new part to the wheel?

Yeh this does work because ive done this to mine ,but instead of glueing it in place i used a self tapping screw into the middle of the plastic cog.this makes it easy to get the belt off if you need to.
