Painting a C5 / new shell?
« on: 25, July, 2014 - 09:02:35 »
Picked up a C5 and it has been bumped at the front, meaning the body work has been filled and as a result is unlikely to get clean or anywhere near back to white.
So im thinking of either sanding it down and painting it white? anyone done this? can you make it look any good?
Or... buying a new shell? anyone got one available?

Thanks,

Dan

  • 4 legs may be better than 2 but 3 wheels better then anything!

Hi yes you can be you need to start with a 2 to 3 coats of Plastic primer,  then 2 to 4 coats of high build primer, 2 to coats of gloss and if you want 1 or 2 coats of lacquer.

Plenty of light wet & dry at each stage and 3G cutting paste.

I am upto gloss stage but here are some earlier photos.
