Sadly , Sunday was not one of Scotts happier days :'(. The motor on Bluebird 85 was not happy, the brushes aren't doing their job so he couldn't start the run.
To salvage something from the day for him, I gave him the keys to my garage and sent him off to collect "Dave" .The idea was for him to meet us at the half-way lunch stop and then take part in the second half of the run,using Dave.
Unfortunately his car broke down as well and the AA had to take him home - so Scott never got the chance to take part :-[
It was just the start of things getting "interesting" ; during the stop at the Bax Castle (our 2nd pub stop) we was stood in the beer garden enjoying a cold one when we heard a loud bang. Turns out it was the rear inner tube exploding on the brake side of Martins C5 :o.
While the c5's were lined up ready to be carried over a small footbridge onto a cycle path, there was a second loud bang and another inner tube exploded,this time it was on Umpa's C5 and on the brake side rear wheel as well ??? Most odd :-\ , still debating why it happened - very strange that it was the same side on both C5's and within a few minutes of each other. Plus both tubes had split at the same place, right by the valve.
Despie a few challenges, it was a really great run. The sun shone brightly, the scenery was great , the pubs very friendly and the traffic virtiually non-existent - a very good c5 run 8)
Here are a few of my piccies from the day;

Big thank-you to Martin for sorting out a top route ;)

Sorry to hear about Scott's Bluebird and his car :'(, and and thought it was only me that had that sort of bad luck, I'm sure you will soon get both back on the road and enjoy getting to another run and have some great fun to make up for it.
Glad to hear the run was good, even with a couple of drama's.

Sorry to hear about it Scott, it couldn't have happened to a nicer person! On Mponeypit, what is that thingymajigy on the side by the left wheel? It looks like a guitar amp socket!

If you mean the c5 with the rear wheel trims missing, thats "Voodoo" ..the "amp socket" is basically a big on/off switch 8) , one of those large red battery isolator switches that now doubles up as a sort of ignition key ;D

The funny thing about the tyre blowing is that when martins tyre blew up I laughed and took the mick, then when mine blew up - he laughed and took the mick - it was rather funny, and they go with a propper bang too.
Heres the Video :-
