height / weight of driver ?
« on: 10, August, 2008 - 13:46:47 »
Just wondered if there is a maximum height / weight recommended for the C5, and does anyone on here notice a large difference (in overall driving ) depending on wether a lighter / heavier person is driving it ?

i dont think either was really recommended in strict terms for the C5, but common sense applies here, if you are of a heavier weight, then that extra weight will have adverse results on the C5's performance, ie more weight to carry, less speed on average and certainly less distance on one charge of the battery. A perfect example of this is someone who with a battery does 15 miles on one charge, with 2 only does 26 and not 30, the answer is you have to carry the extra weight

was just reading the C5 driver magazine (at sinclairc5.com) and it says that the recommended gross vehicle weight is 150KG. the weight of the C5 is 30KG + battery (originally 15KG)

The real answer here, is the  gross vehicle weight (GVW) 150Kgs, taking everything into consideration, its the stress factor on 2 things, the body/chassis and the motor..if you were 21stone..then you would have a problem, motor, drive train would be stressed, the body and wheels, if the spokes dont bust, you are lucky :D
