I have to disagree with the presenters asertion that car design hasn't advanced much since the '60's- what about primary & secondary safety, economy, rust protection, comfort features, and reliability,?

I think he was talking about the futuristic designs of the 60's. For sure cars are much safer today then they have ever been. Sadly the large amount of them and the need to park them at the side of the road negates this.
