seem someone once had a great idea then let it slip away having done it seems the most part of the work needed.

could be fun to sort it out properly then give it a go up the test hill at brooklands the mini moto engines do seem to give a decent amount of power for size.

but i'd let challenger go up in front 1st - just in case it needed towing  ::)

I like the idea of a petrol powered C5 for a bit of fun, but would prefer more power with an electric motor. Fast and green !  :D

Petrol power goes against the very core of the C5 idea.  The future lies in a better gearbox and 24v. The C5 should remain an iconic electric vehicle, in my opinionated idea !  ;D

Might be worth a gamble if the price doesn't go much higher, but knowing ebay, it'll probably shoot up in the last 10 minutes  :D

reckon it would be great fun, problem with it unless you have access to private land where can you ride it?

ok the 24 volt is a tad iligal, but you would be a bit unlucky to get knicked for using one unless acting the goat on it.

this C5 will make a fair old racket and a joy for the local beat copper to snap up and do you on.

so not something to buy in haste me thinks

To be honest if your wanting to put it back to stock, you would be better off buying a different one.

Umpa is right, you should consider the cost of all the missing components and weigh it up against the cost of buying one that needs nothing doing to it.

Some parts are getting rare now - which means prices are going up.

Hi there thanks Karl I think I will probably take you up on that .But at the moment I 'v left the petrol
C5 on the back boiler and started building a 24volt / 900watt throttle controlled chain drive C5 Its just about  ready for testing on the road but will wait till next week and if it's ok will complete and fit the lights/ horn /trims a voltage monitor and a speed meter also connect the fan up and give it a good clean .Also fitted a set of cables to connect two battery's together and run the c5 with  foolproof connecting (will not work if you connect the leads the wrong way round and do no harm (relay and diode fitted with switch).
