Hi I have also been doing some testing and still not sure how it will run I decided to make a smaller front crank (35 teeth ) the original has 42 teeth
In the meantime I will be making two chains and try both but not until it has been finished ...

Hi just finished testing the hub on the frame also fitted the rear brake mod .
Regarding the hub I wanted to make sure that I geared it down to make it easer to peddle when You come across an incline or want to get some speed up but as with the normal C5 you have to peddle hard to keep it going ,without the7speed hub turning the front crank around once will turn the wheels round twice
.Here is the gearing using the 7 speed hub after gearing it down .
First gear would give you when the crank goes round once the wheels will go round 1.15 times
Sec gear would give you 1.25 turns
Third gear. 1.50 " "
Forth gear. 1.75. " "
Fifth gear 2.00 " " same speed as it would be without the hub being fitted
Sixth gear. 2.75 " "
Seventh 3.00 " "
So it will make it a lot easer to peddle up hills and also to peddle faster on the straight .
Photos to follow
The next thing it to restore the C5 and do a proper test with all the gears with me on it

Bye Chas
