Control box fault, green light no drive

(1/3) > >>

c5mick:
Hi
Can anyone cast any light on a fault on a control box ?

When pressing micro switch on handle bar the green light on the pod on the left hand bank of lights illuminates.

The relay does not click when micro switch pressed. The relay under test checks out ok.

The motor does not drive when micro switch is pressed. The motor came from a working C5 and checks out ok wired direct.

D1 diode checks out ok

The voltage regulator checks out ok, 5v and 12v

Both X12 and X13 show a +12v when micro switch is pressed. These are the 2 small wires going to the relay. I would have thought one of these should be a negative.

Any help appreciated
Regards
Mick

Hi Mick - any one or all of the following will give you this :

1.TR3 in the control box is faulty.
2. The op amp in the control box is faulty.
3. The red harness from pod to control box has a bad connection.
4. A Fuse has blown.
5. Possible issue in Pod
6. The small orange wire connection in control box is not connected or incorrectly connected
Let us know how it goes

Marty

Hi Marty
Thanks for your reply
I have changed the red harness for a known working cable.
Both fuses checked and are ok
Pod ok, replaced for a known working pod, and original works on another C5.
Small orange cable correctly connected.

Lights, indicators and horn work ok if this is any any help.

That is where I am upto at the moment, are the op amp and TR3 available from anywhere. Is there anyway of checking these before changing them.

Regards
Mick
