To help out Dan and his hard working colleagues , I thought we should collate any problems we notice on the new forum on this topic ...saves them having to wade through all the various pots on different topics to try and spot different comments. There are always bound to be a few little niggles with any major overhaul, I'm really pleased with it all so far :)
spell checker missing
having to press "f5" to display the forum from the main website page
individual profile stats display distorted
c5alive logo in top left corner disappears when viewing topics (replaced with red cross)

The shop is built and just going through final tweaks before it's handed over to Karl.
We are doing a bit more work to the forum today as well...
spell checker missing
This is a server issue. Your host will need to install Pspell which some servers don't support. I know they changed servers recently so that might be why we don't have it now - I will send an email with more detail.

This is really beating us - We can't work out wether it is a bug in SMF or the server. Will keep working away.

This is almost certainly a theme issue so should be something we can fix.

BTW you can now have avatar images of 160 x 160 pixels

Hi everyone
Could you do a couple of things for me when snagging.
1 - refresh the browser a few times for me (sometime holding down F5 and pressing the refresh button is the best way)
You computer saves a lot of the website on your hard drive so it loads quicker - however this might mean you don't have the latest version.
2 - let me know what browser you are using
A lot of bugs are unique to a particular browser so we need to know which one. You should be able to find this by going to 'Help' then 'About this browser'

Hmm - I don't think this is deliberate! I'll look in to it.
PS - all but two bugs have been completed in the shop and website. So its just down to filling out all the products and content now!

Hmm - I don't think this is deliberate! I'll look in to it.
I'm pretty sure I recall reading this somewhere. Will have a look to see if I can find the post that said this.

..if its in the "old" format then you're in the Teensters section set aside for younger members.
It was deliberately set up this way , it should also be hidden unless you're a signed up forum member (for obvious reasons).

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days - packing for a house move.
Battery charger is all packed at the moment so I'm missing the C5 :(
I will get those sections put on the new format if you like - I can make some kind of indication these parts are different with a change of background colour or similar?

Even with the full site now up and running I'm still getting the "F5" snag .
ps - I've amended the Teensters section to the "Black rain" format ...looks quite mean and moody so should go down well :D

Yup, I still get it although not as often as with the old forum.

I dont think the "shop" side of the site is really ready for use, there's a lot of sorting and tidying up to do not to mention a few snags with selecting various options . I'll be chatting with TJ tomorrow to help me get a few things straightened out (Dan is moving house).
Still happy with the site , just some teething problems not entirely unexpected with such a massive upgrade so bear with us ;)

What a difference a day makes :)
Most of the "shop" side is pretty much how I want it now , just a few more pictures to sort and a section that wont allow me any access...but we've made some excellent progress !

We can't find the source of the F5 issue - It's dropping the connection but not sure if it s SMF or the server :-\

Dan and Tj have now sorted pretty much all the snags, just a few minor tweaks and tidying up some of the images I used in the shop side.
The f5 problem is still causing a bit of head scratching though...I think they may be open to advice on that one :P, but they're still plugging away trying to sort it out so I reckon they'll get there in the end ;)
Have to say its all looking really good now. Mucho please with the results 8)

Looking through the buyers guide and a couple of other topics I noticed some links in the text to the download section no longer work so I'll be sorting those out later.
If you see any that I've missed let me know.

I've just noticed that all those that have recently joined the forum seem to have the same text on their profiles;
"..4 legs may be better than 2 but 3 wheels better then anything! "
I'm guessing it is a default setting ?

Dan has been busy this weekend , the links to the 24v kit instructions have now been sorted 8) (cheers matie).
Remember though guys that this is historical information relating to a kit previously supplied by c5alive. Since I took over the site we no longer supply these power upgrade kits due to the potential for gearbox damage. You convert your own c5 with this knowledge in mind .

Lance - the spell checker is no longer supported by the hosts upgraded server. This isn't a Forum issue it's a server one. God knows why it's no longer supported but there you go.
I'm looking into a 3rd party one but not sure if it will integrate well with the SMF form system. I'll keep you posted.
So what have I missed? ;D

My top part is disappearing occasionally - the bit with "Hello [name]" and "show unread messages"
Anyone else getting this?
Also the hoover image is back, which I assume Karl did?

I suggested this and Karl added it. It's low resolution because he had to play around with it to make it look OK size wise.

Having chatted with Dan the Hoover piccie may next sorting due to a possible bug with the forum software....so if it disappears dont worry, it should return later in a modified form ;)

..if you look a little further down you'll see "thumbs up" .
The battery level indicates how many times the thumbs up has been used in appreciation of your efforts 8)

..as far as I can tell it is only visible when logged in, and is underneath your avatar ..you wont see the "give a thumbs up" on your own profile name (probably to stop you giving yourself lots of thumbs up votes ;)) but you should see it on a posting made by someone else.
If not, then there is a snag and I'll leave Dan to sort it ;D

Hey guys - there is a limit of 50 posts before you get the option but you are all above that.
Can you check your profile settings to make sure you haven't got it turned off.
The only other thing I can think is there is a timer limit so you can't just keep clicking it.
Short answer is I don't know :-\ but looking in to it :)
