Looks like "modern art" to me... :-P
-
Could be but it`s not .Maybe it`s the start of a robot ???
-
I'm sure there are some who would think that it is!
But anyway, I would think that it's one of these:

topped with an upside down bucket and served with... silver cylinders?
-
Hi there no wrong try again .....This just a small part of it .More to follow
-
That's a rear wheel hub sprayed silver. With holes drilled into it, and the centre cap taken out, and something shoved into it.
-
Yes that's what it is ....But it's just a small part of a complete Restoration that I have started .
will post more photo's later ........bye keep guessing...
-
Anything to do with this ;D

-
;D Does that mean i win a prize :D
I remembered seeing a pic of the sleigh a while ago, and i was actually thinking of buying it last year when it came up for sale, but decided, for my first C5, to go for a normal one :D
Are you planning on driving it around once you've restored it or will it be more for displaying at shows etc ?
-
Hi there Daz no prize but maybe if you want I could send you a light switch
or maybe a set of back wheel bearings just let me know ....Anyway regarding the sleigh I will be restoring it to it`s former glory .Then showing it ...Take a look at the photo's ...

-
Yes it will be saved and ready for showing soon .
just one photo at the moment of the frame sprayed up and ready for building up ..

If you can't see the rear light when its complete and the light is'nt damaged would you liketo sell it as mine has a small piece missing on the corner and spoils its apperence ?

-
Chas as always looking like another top quality rebuild
-
That gold colour reminds me of Matts "Goldfinger" :)
-
Yes your right but this one is the Grandmother of Goldfinger
-
Hi Andy the back light also has a piece broken of it just like yours ...sorry not for sale

Thanks Andy ...Just been building up Supergran ...outside in the sun .
-
I'm guessing it hadn't been used all that much in Supergran and if stored for some time since, its gonna come up nice when finished :)
Retro Andy
-
Looking good so far Chas - are they the original sinclair tyres as the look like new ? Goldfinger is hoping to meet his grandmother soon !!!
Marty
-
Hi there the tyres are the original ones still in very good condition no cracks or splits ...but I know that I should replace them but I want to keep it as it was ...Don't expect it will be doing many miles in the future it's just for show ..The only thing that I will be replacing is the motor the old one has brown fingers + the battery and the connectors .I've made a set up just for the job with protection otherwise it will be back in original condition.
-
Just started putting Supergran Sleigh back together as you can see still have a long way to go also have to remove the sticky tape glue of any one have any clue what to use
(http://i992.photobucket.com/albums/af46/jordan8_2009/PICT0476.jpg)
-
YOU COULD TRY LABEL REMOVER, THAT GETS MOST RESIDUE OFF, MAPLINS DO IT.
-
Ok thanks will check it out
-
you can soften the old glue with a hair drier and then use hot water with one of the sponge abrasive pan cleaners.

Alan
-
Not tried it out on a c5, but I find gently warming with a hairdryer (softens the glue) and then lightly rubbing with a cloth and white spirit removes most stickers and residue from motorbike or car panels.
-
Thanks to you both will try both methods and get back to you .bye Chas
-
Just started again on Supergran ..first thing was to fit a brand new motor The old one had brittle fingers (I think there is one on ebay the same ) + 18mm belt and a motor support bracket ....

Hat's off to you Chas - you really are the 'Daddy' when it comes to restoration - another fantastic job
Looking forward to getting a photo of it's grandchild 'Goldfinger' next to it.
-
WOW, I reckon you might get one or two looks in it as no one will have a clue what it is. You have done a really good job mate, whats next ?
Retro Andy

The next thing is to replace the 900 watt motor on the 24volt C5 .It was'nt powerfull enough only got 18 mph out of it and it was running to hot so going to replace it with a standard motor with a metal insert in the gearbox .And see how it goes

Chas, that is fantastic. You have done yourself proud there!
is there a pod holder missing from the back in this pic?
Can't wait to see you drive that up the road! Get a video ASAP! :) :)
-
Well spotted ...There is something missing well not missing as such I only had one must buy another (the holes at the back where just open )and didn't look very good so I fitted the blank and as you can see it looks ok will have to get another) it's a blank off a water tank. Also I noticed that there are two screw holes at the front on the runners there must have been two round poles fitted to join both sides up .Of to Wilkinsons to buy two brush poles..
-
That looks great Chas , another top job ;D
You'll certainly get some interesting looks when you take it out :D
Daz
-
Hi there Daz I will only be taking it out when it's dark ...............
-
Hi there Daze just had a ride on Supergran and she went all the way (2 miles up the road and back )
Everthing seems to be OK just a little problem with bottoming it .But as long as I go slow over the bumps it should be OK ..
It looks like I will be going to MLTON KEYNES if I can get here in the car ....So if anyone wants any spares let me know and I will bring some ..
Chas bye see you soon
-
