So wheres the Switch for Front Light?
« on: 27, November, 2009 - 16:37:53 »
Hi people,

finally took my C5 for out for a quick buz down my street and went sweet as a nut, now trying to unhook the corners of my mouth from my ear lobs ;)

but where is the front light turned on from? i checked it is wired in and there is a new and working LED bulb in it.

mine has the C5 Martin battery wiring kit mod, but no rocker switch on the handlebar to select between run and run with lights as some have had fitted.

The light switch isn't fitted to the handlebar, it is on the "lip" of the white bodywork under your left thigh (as you sit on the c5).

It is fitted to a black bracket screwed into the bodywork with two small screws - just above where the battery should sit.

Alan,

You would have found it easily if you went down a steep hill.

Once you had pulled the brakes realised how good they are and stuck your head between your legs to kiss your *pardon my French* goodbye...

Ta da... There's the switch ! !  ;D

Hope you are keeping well and must catch up soon. K.

I sometimes have the problem that on full left turns my thumb touches the seat, and then I accelerate because the mikro switch gets pressed. Even bad when I'm braking at the same time....

When I first got 'Jetpac', the previous owner had wired the indicator switch under your right thigh in as a cruise control, that locked the motor on.

Firstly you had to be careful you did not overheat the motor, and it came straight out when I accidently caught it once with my leg at a junction and nearly got shot out into the traffic.

The only good thing was that both microswitches on the handlebars are wired for the motor so you can change hands if your thumb cramps up or you want to supplement the indicators with hand gestures (As per the the highway code of course!).

I have managed to resurrect the old indicators, which were basically hacked to bit husks and these work quite well now.
