Hi all, getting fed up with the winter now christmas has come and gone, so looking forward to the summer (if we get one this year) and have been looking at a date for this years Royal Run, i have a choice of two, firstly June 28th which is the same weekend as the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials which may add some fun ? or the second date in mind is July 26th, which ever gets the most votes wins so let me know.

July is already looking as though it's gonna be quite busy for us, so I vote for June :)
I'm looking to fill the June 28th slot coz I've shifted the Brighton run, do you want me to pencil you in ? You need to be quick coz I've emailed Fezza suggesting the same for his northern run...
Looks as though the 2009 meetings schedule is going to be a good one 8)

If the 28th June is best, then lets go for late date, as long as thats not a problem with Fezza, dont want to spoil anyone's plans so if it is ok then the 28th it is and put that into the meetings schedule Karl, many thanks.

All done mate 8)

That's a date then, i will go over the route and possibly take a slightly different one, but one thing is for sure Karen will be making the bacon rolls (as long as that wont put anyone off) :)

I'll vote for June 28th because its my birthday. ( I should have a C5 by then!)

Happy Birthday for the 28th June then matie ;D
...if you're not enjoying c5 ownership by then you could always borrow one !
-
It will go towards making the day even better, dont know if anyone has celerbrated a birthday before on a run, it will be great to meet you and i will get a cake in to go with the bacon sandwiches, how many candles do i put on it ?

I have been looking at the route, and may included a small hill climb, but it does mean a nice free wheel back down to the Castle along the main road, so should get a lot of looks, the rest will stay the same.
Retro Andy
-
I have tried a slightly different route, but the effort getting up the hill is not worth the hassle, will go out one night a try a couple of slight changes, the first being a second pub stop after watching the Horsham run it seems only right :)
Retro Andy.
-
Don't worry yourself too much mate - the original route last time was excellent :)
-
If i do a make a change to the route it will be only a small one, but i was happy with last years, so if any change it will be a slight one.

I,m hoping that I can make this one, it just depends on what time our rehearsal is on sunday.
we normally start at around five pm so as long as I can get back in time it should be a goer.
-
It will be great to see you again Wizbat, i am planning to set off by 11.00/11.30, if everyone can get to mine by around 10.00 this should mean we would be back by about 3.00 so i hope this will work on for you.

...mmm, gave this some serious thought :-\ - even with "minidaz" style origami I wouldn't be able to fit three c5's and a bodyshell into my Estima :-[ .....................................so,
Angie and I went out and measured the trailer for the "mini-el" and reckon we could fit two C5's and the bodyshell on it.
Game on ! "Dave" will be at the Royal Run ;D
-
Sorry Karl, looks like my mate Dave can't make it now, feel free to bring alond your Dave as a spare C5 if you wish, sorry again to mess you about, but will give you a call and explain, anyway really looking forward to Sunday, dont know the number's yet, but will get the bacon & eggs ready for about 10.00 am.
Retro Andy
-
No worries mate, I'll leave "Dave" at home and just bring C5's for Angie and myself - saves dragging the trailer around :)
-
Many thanks, sorry again and i hope i did'nt cause you much hassle

No worries at all mate, see ya Sunday ;D
-
After minidaz showed at Brooklands just how useful an Estima can really be, I've followed his example and managed to load 2 complete C5's plus a spare C5 bodyshell ;

All set ready for tomorrows run ;D

That looks really funny Karl, people following you will wonder want the hell it is or where your going sledgeing in the summer, now that gives me an idea, any chance you've got room for another shell Karl ;D Only jokeing, but it might work ? see you in the morning.
Retro Andy

Dude - you will get pulled like that lol
-
Excellent stuff :D :D
I feel a challenge coming on : Just how many C5's can you ' legally ' fit in / on an Estima :D :D

We made it to Andy's place in one piece with no drama - the bike rack held firm and the bodyshell was delivered in as scruffy a condition as when it left, just covered in sooty diesel deposits ::)
Todays run was absolutely superb - excellent weather and a brilliant route. First off though, a very big thank you to Andy and his family for looking after us. Excellent bacon butties mate ;)
No exploding inner tubes this time, sum total of "incidents" was fairly minor - one slow puncture, a broken brake cable and a chain tensioner falling off. Plus Steve managed to eject his boot a couple of times ;D
Ray wasn't too happy with his batteries which seemed to perform quite badly , but the Halfords leisure battery fitted to "Moneypit" performed surprisingly well - I thought it was on its way out but seems to have recovered a little.
Overall an excellent day out - really good fun :D 8)

Lastly, my emergency stop (to avoid Steves discarded boot) left its mark on the road surface :o;

PS,he Queen had a quick spin in my C5 when you were not looking, and she loved it,so preparing one for her now!
Well she said she was the Queen"what does she look like"?
