If it runs and then cuts out, then runs again after a short rest my guess is it's probably low battery power . The battery symbol on the lower left side of the dash display has a small red light in it. If low battery power is the problem this small red light will flash, then eventually stay on followed by the vehicle cutting out. This tends to happen even if the green dots on the "fuel gauge" show several "dots" of power left.

You can disconnect/remove & charge the batteries without using the onboard standard charger, but the car doesn't recognise the batteries have been charged and will refuse to run until its own charging system has been reconnected and used ....no idea how/why it does this - but it happened on mine.

Took it for more test runs, the longest was about 7 miles.
Lost 3 power lights,so not to shure what the range might be?

The manufacturers claim about 20-25miles... :-\

A gent down in Bristol said he usually got about 15miles

I cant really comment since mine has very tired batteries and only manages about 5miles  ;D

I think thats what they refer to as the capacitor bypass (or something similar)...the BVS gang where well surprised to see my mini-el had everything intact as the manufacturer intended.

As it's all running ok I chose to leave well alone and not start fiddling with stuff  :)

If I was using the mini-el more often I might be tempted to do the modification as an emergency "get you home" .
