Title: Anyone able to help ?
Post by: Karl on 18, January, 2013 - 15:22:58
I've received this request in my email ;

Hi Karl

Thanks for your entertaining website which brought back a lot of memories.

I would like to ask if you have any pictures of the original box packaging of the C5 as I did the illustration that I believe was printed on the side of the box. I never saw it in situ and have always wanted to have some sort of record. My good mate Rik owned the company that was contracted (under strict secrecy) to do the packaging for the C5 and asked me to do a side view for the box. I worked for Morgan Grampian publishers at the time and couldn't resist taunting the journalists on the Engineer and Design Engineering magazine that I knew what the C5 looked like, which was the subject of feverish speculation at the time.

If you can help or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Pete Beach

None of the boxed c5's I've been lucky enough to own came in a printed box. They were both from the later batch of c5's that came with the economy version "plain box" , probably due to Sinclair Vehicles trying to save cash as they headed towwards bankruptcy.

Anyone able to help with an original printed box ?

Just a thought - could it be the design used on the accessories packing - eg on the mirror / indicator boxes ?

Without his design of the Control box and the pod there would be no C5 ........

Hi there Karl thanks ...Here was his reply .

Hi Chas,

I never saw any boxes with illustrations on them.... Given that a lot
of product was distributed before the launch then I would be most
surprised if they
had put an illustration on the box as it would have been giving away a
secret....

Best Regards

Perran
