Hi Guys
Do many of you ride to work in your C5? I'm hoping to a few times a week but am not sure how to do so with my rucksack.
It's fairly bulky as I have to carry my 17" MacbookPro.
Could I just hang it over the back? I have visions of me doing wheelies down the road.

Is it to big for the boot ???

Looks like someone needs to design a C5 trailer..... :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

@Plodd - I doubt it, how large is the boot? I need to get a 17" laptop in there.
@Lance - Great idea, I'll design it if you build it!

Someone did actually build a trailer for their C5. I can't remember who it was, but i'm pretty sure there are pics of it on here somewhere :D

Hi I thinks you will find that it was Mark' s dad the old c5alive owner who had a trailer for his 24 volt C5

You're right Chas, Alan & Mark did have a trailer. I think Fezza also dabbled with one as well :)

Chas over to you, Mr C5 Guru............... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I may look into it some time but at the moment I'm working on making some back wheel center caps ...
bye Chas

an important thing to note is that the c5 boot is bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside! i'm pretty sure that you'll be able to fit your 17" macbook pro in there :)

Hum!!!!!!!!! Bigger on the inside than the outside...................
Sounds more like Dr Who's tardis than a C5....... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

A trailer is a ridiculous idea for a C5. You might as well fit a roof then a roofrack, and why not add a fourth wheel for stability and install a diesel engine. The C5 is an electrically assisted tricycle, and a not very well made one at that;thats all it is. It isn't a car.

Hi there regarding the trailer it was used when we went on runs to carry spairs ..in case of break downs

Great news Jonny - It'll be arriving in T minus 5 hours so I can have a try. Hope the rain clears up!

Well Chas Count me amongst your customers for rear wheel centre caps as I'd love some. & although purists might disagree I'd like to make a spare set that were reflective for London traffic too.

Hi Dan
Your posting made me race down stairs for my C5's boot & immediately started to try and squeeze my older style 17" PowerBook G4 into the boot.
Due to it's narrower opening I found my laptop had to go in diagonally & would then sit in the boot comfortably, So was it Johny's comment about it being larger on the inside than it first appears.......
However the lap-top might fit, but when in my waterproof throw down stairs proof lap top bag it won't........So I will be interested to see how your design mind makes your machine safe from water and road side shocks and bumps.
Wonder how you've been getting on?

Hi Neil
My current gen MacbookPro fits in perfectly but, no, not in a thick case. I've found a laptop bad that's fairly thin. Hopefully the bumps won't harm it too much. The poor thing has taken quite a lot of battering in it's time but it is a good work horse.
The C5 is proving a good way to get to work (while it's dry at least).

You could just put some foam / bubble rap at the bottom of the boot and to the sides, to help stop it rattling around.
