help!
« on: 01, June, 2010 - 09:41:59 »
Connected up my project C5 to a 12V car battery, via the keyswitch(on). The motor ran continuously without pressing the handlebar switch( meters as open circuit when not pressed). I hadn't connected the motor heat sensor. Is this suggestive of the control panel being kaput?. The pod didn't light up.

Hi -Possibly a problem in the control box - I would check your relay contacts are not stuck together and diode d1 is ok

No photo taken, it was just jury rigged. The motor terminal are different diameters to protect against polarity reversal as you know. The red motor positive lead went to the double stud to which a brown wire was already connected and the black lead to the stud to which a blue wire was already connected.
How do I check the diode? I am not electronically minded unfortunately.

Hi there Anthony just check out the photo's I think that you may have connected the motor wires up wrong ..bye Chas

As you can see the black motor wire goes to the right side of the box .And the red and brown wire goes in the middle ...And the blue wire goes on the left ....Not sure how you connected yours up but if you have done it the same as in the photo's That is the correct way ..Bye Chas

Hi there Anthony you will have blown nothing up all you have done is connected the motor to + and neg .It will have done no harm at all. That's why the motor was running without pressing the start button  ..
