Winter storage for the C5
« on: 02, October, 2011 - 21:34:04 »
I am getting ready to store my C5 away for the winter months in a old external brick bulky shed with a flat roof, some distance from my home. I will have little access to the shed until March. I was wondering the best way to store the C5?

I was going to pump the tyres up, rest the C5 off the floor using some wood, cove the whole body in a dust sheets and plastic sheeting, to avoid any water damage. Is there any other ways? Should I grease up all metal parts?

Keeping the wheels off the ground sounds sensible so you're on the right tracks.

My biker mates tend to spray their bikes in chain lube for the winter hibernation then use degreaser to remove it in the spring. If you're worried about damp corroding the chassis then it might be worth doing the same ? Wouldn't recommend spraying the plastic 'shell with it though !

The main thing is to make sure there is nothing pressing down on the front section by the pod otherwise it will end up all "droopy"  :o.
