Obviously there are so many different types that it would be impossible to list more than generics but please comment with your battery and usual range :)

I use a pair of LiFePO4 batteries at 20Ah each.

I get about 7 miles out of one of them without much pedalling + they're small (180mm x 165mm x 75mm) and lightweight (2.5kg each) making hills a bit easier ;D

Downside is they're expensive  :(  :( Though you can charge them 6x the number of times you can charge most car batteries.

I use an 038 type Yuasa battery (35Ah) with the original battery top. I get around 12 - 14 miles from a charge.

Not easy to give an accurate answer because I always support the poor motor by padalling. Short distances: 40Ah starter battery from the scrapyard, range 25km. Longer trips: 60Ah, widest range approx. 50km. Next summer I will install used NiCd aircraft starter batteries.

  • 4 legs may be better than 2 but 3 wheels better then anything!

I use a 75Ah Numax LV22MF. It's definitely over kill for my use currently as the furthest I've gone is 10 miles, but I reckon it could do at least 30. It also weighs 18kg, so is flipping heavy.
I should buy a smaller battery really, but I do intend adding a mobility scooter motor to assist with hills and the extra charge will come in really handy then as I could use the C5 much more.

  • You don't have to be mad to own a C5, but it helps

I have 2 x used 56Ah leisure batteries that were given to me, they came from an invalid roller. Range 0km, until I modify my C5s I can't legally put them on the road.  :( :(

The original Sinclair battery was in effect a leisure battery, designed for deep discharge which starter batteries are not.
