Sadly you have to be a member to see the page - but I guess they are worth it, I work 4 miles (ish) from my works so a C5 is ok, if it were 10 miles I would get a Mini-EL. Seven grand is a lot - tho, I bet its a good one -
..the mini-el is a lot of fun, but they cost a lot more to purchase and it is registered as an electric motorcycle with the DVLA. This means MoT,(free) Tax, insurance and driving licence are required. Spare parts are easy enough to obtain, and not too expensive either, so running one is quite cheap in comparison to a small car or moped. With enclosed bodywork you get better protection from the elements, plus with a steering lock and proper ignition key it is a bit more secure when you leave it parked outside the shops.
But the C5 is certainly better for those shorter journeys, plus it has the bonus of being allowed onto cycle paths. A lot cheaper to run as well, with cheap car batteries and no Mot or insurance costs.
