Back in 1985 Sir Clive originally targeted the BMX riding youth as the main potential buyers of the Sinclair C5.
His own market research team found that the main buyers would actually be middle aged (i.e. around 30-40 yeras old) and realised that the C5 was being aimed at the wrong market - but nobody told Sir Clive.
Was their research correct ? I think this poll will confirm they were 8)
I'm sure I'm not the youngest person on here... am I? :-S
I do recall that from archived video footage, Sir Clive did mention that they were ideal for 'Going to school', 'Trips around Town' and such. So, if the 'Going to school' was anything to go by, he probably thought that it would appeal to anyone over 14. However, I don't recall ever having £399 to spend at the age of 14! ;D
