Title: Two brown cables
Post by: joerg on 31, May, 2012 - 17:50:32
Hi folks,

I recently got a 2nd C5 that is in a far better condition than my first one, as the electronics (control box, pod) are still there and working smoothly.
It still had the original Sinclair battery key switch which I needed to disconnect to make it work with my car battery.

I noticed that there are two brown cables connected to the positive terminal of the battery: a small one and a big one.
Why not only a big one that leads into the control box? What's the reason for the small one?

The small brown is part of the keyswitch circuit acting like a ignation.
You will see that it is connected to a spade connector in the control box.

The small brown wire is part of the circuitry for the battery meter in the pod , small but essential  :)

Hmm, ok, but why cannot the battery meter in the control box just be connected over the big brown one?

without looking, I thought it has something to do with the ignition being off to power the motor but having a separate power for the lights ? cant remember on that part  :-\
