Seriously considering this right now. What are the estimated costs for a whole kit assuming I manage to fit it myself? Was there a stronger gearbox developed by C5 Alive for 24V conversions in the end?
4qd controller and twist grip come in at around £130 if I remember correctly :)

You should be able to connect the lights circuit to just the one 12 volt battery ..
Hi there the wiring that I make has outputs for 12volt and 24volt so you could use either .I run the controler + the fan and a volt meter on 24 volts and the lights/horn and the indicators from the 12 volt side also the heat sensor I connect to the the relay that is also run on 12 volt So if the motor gets to hot it will cut out the power and will shut down...all
Hi I am running everything 24v just change the bulbs to 24v. Just remember POD will not operate.

Not at the moment as various functions (input & output signals) come / goto the control box via the 10 core red cables.
I am looking at an alternative at the moment but just don't have the time.
I did start with an electronic circuit that did the 24v battery monitoring which got made up.

I have nearly finished working on the boby shell and will start with the chassis / electronics but it will not be until october.

I'll be needing new batteries in the next couple of weeks - mine are dying to the point they are close to struggling with the commute. After this, I'll be saving up for a 24V kit. Just one question;
If, once converted to 24V, I have a longer journey to do and complete it at 12-15mph, will I get the same range as I would get running on 12V?
