For the next few days only - my C5 has 2 motors, so I currently have a "Temporary Twin motor C5 hill climbing special". 24V 1450W total :o :)

The existing 1200W Bosch motor is on the back, and a newly installed 250W hub motor on the front.
Old/Current 1200W:

The plan is to now take off the 1200W motor (completely illegal road wise - this thread has more about that (http://c5alive.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2609.msg23512.html#msg23512)) and just leave the new hub motor.
I now plan to post a new thread about installing the hub motor, including the bit of prep work needed, in the next days.
Pat
superb work 8)
Great
Will be watching out for that thread as it's something I'd be tempted to do purely for hill climbing as I can't physically get the C5 up most of the roads round here, or get moving again at some junctions.
I had thought about a second motor from a mobility scooter, but there are some technical issues to resolve which really isnt within my comfort zone, but a hub motor could do the job nicely.
Hi there what if the C5 was only able to go say at 6mph would that be a problem ....
Chas
6mph wouldn't be a problem for me - it's only to get uphill and hill starts
Ok I will look in to it ....bye Chas
Hi Mhurt I have started to work on the 6/7 mph C5 Gearbox and will post photos when there is something to post at the moment I am having a 12 tooth internal gearbox insert made up but will have to wait for the HTD Pulley to arive before it can be drilled out and fitted to the insert .....Bye Chas
