Title: Electric bike conversion kit
Post by: BeeAeRTee on 19, March, 2013 - 11:51:21
Will this electric bike conversion kit work on C5? (On the freewheel sprocket on the rear axle, with 2 leisure batteries)

How fast will it go?
Can it reach 25 mph? (Depending the front-sprocket you use)
Will it accelerate decent, without pedals?
Just want to know...
:)

I ordered this 250W 24V kit to mount on my C5.
In about 3 weeks it will be delivered...

I'd be interested to see how this conversion performs. I think Chas tried a similar motor and he found the power output a bit disappointing ?

Good luck - be interesting to see results.

Thinking about attempting the long ride to work when the weather is a bit more clement and something like this could aid the way.

How long do you think a 8 - 9 mile journey would take? Google maps reckons 50mins but I don't know what speed that is at.
